KIRA A singer, composer and pianist who earned degrees in classical composition from the Eastman School of Music and Yale University, Kira Fontana studied with three Pulitzer prize winning composers before returning to her childhood love of songwriting. Her music embraces an emotional rawness without fear, while exploring a soul-searching mysticism that's undaunted in recognizing life's ever-changing moves. A songwriter from the age of seven, Fontana began writing piano instrumentals before her teens, and has since composed for symphony orchestras, chamber ensembles, Balinese gamelan and her own band-ensemble. In late 2007, Fontana released her debut album, The Inner Revolution, mixed by Howard Bilerman (Arcade Fire, Godspeed You Black Emperor). It has been played in Australia, Canada, Finland, Germany, Holland, Israel, Spain, the UK and across the US, earning rave listener reviews and a passionate international fanbase.
